Client: The Pioneer Museum of Colorado Springs

Goal: Through being provided simply HiRes historical photos, create 3D walk through scenes of specified blocks in downtown Colorado Springs. circa 1915.

Obtain details of vision from client

The Museum was not quite sure what would best serve the need for the exhibit but was confident of ability for being interactive and 3D in addition to a 1915 replica of the 4 main downtown blocks of the city.

Options

Worked on coming up with the best solution on the technical side whilst still offering the client the ability to choose more on the design side. Presented 3 mock approaches.

Implement

The primary tools used were SketchUp, Lumion and Google Earth. The Museum was cautious of the need for simplicity due to the vast variety in regards to the age of visitors.

Test and Release

We decided on videos where museum visitors could pick from a variety of streets and angles and simply “walk down the streets of 1915 whilst not having to work navigation in VR environment.
